Observations of Human Nature

Law #1: The law of Social Segregation.

Have you noticed that we humans have a tendency of keeping away from each other? An affinity to be "segregated" from others?

Yes, yes. When you board the MRT train and see 3 adjacent empty seats (Assuming there's no old geezer or pregnant/fat lady to give up the seat to), you're first instinct would be to hone in on the middle seat. No not the one on the right, next to that guy who looks like he's having an asthma attack; and not the one on the left, next to that girl of another race (No intention of being racist, but we do have an inclination of being comfortable with members of the same race); the one in the middle. Away from that dude and that lady. Social segregation.
For guys, this situation honestly arises almost every time we take a piss in groups. When a group approaches a set of urinals, all they need is for one person to pick a urinal; everyone else then falls in instinctively. An empty urinal between individuals. Not a word said, not even a glance at each other. Isn't that cool? Don't you think it's rather amusing? Haha.

We like our own space don't we? No matter how redundant or nonsensical, we must have our own space. Being able to do stretch our hands a little more or have a tinge more fresh air coming in; it's just one of our idiosyncracies.

However what's rather ironic is that we're a band of social creatures. Imagine living all by yourself. Ok now empathise with all those mental patients in solitary detention. Yeah it's hard. Shouldn't we just love and bathe in the excitement of being in a group? Haha after reading that bit on society in the almighty "GP INFOPACK", it just got me thinking. Living in a household, a community, a country. It's simply because we rely on one another for sustenance, whether you like it or not. But there comes a point where we need our own space. Our own corner where we can just flick on the introspective switch and look inwards. Think. Reflect. Feel. By ourselves, for ourselves.
Mom. *hint*~ Hahaha

Anyways, after all this interacting with members of the community, i think a little alone time...is good sometimes.
